Achieve Bootcamp 2011 24 hour National 3 Peaks Challenge

The challenge is set – The National 3 Peaks in under 24hrs; that is, the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales.

The mountains climbed are Ben Nevis in Western Scotland, 1,344 metres (4,409 ft), Scafell Pike in North-Western England, 978 metres (3,209 ft) and Snowdon in North Wales, 1,085 metres (3,560 ft).  In all the challenge involves hiking a marathon distance (26.2 miles) up and down the mountains; and travelling a distance of nearly 500 miles in the minibus, which I’m sure will smell fresh at the start but I can’t guarantee by the time we get to Wales.

This blog will provide you with information about our training programme, our exploits in the hills in the run up to the challenge and details of the charities we will be helping along the way.

Our first training walk will be in the Malvern Hills on Sunday 13th February 2011.  I will post the route closer to the time.
